Motorcyclists should not ride on the lines in between lanes!

Apparently they have the rights to get on the highway and start riding in between lanes and occasionally weave around posing hazard to other motorists. I was told that motorcyclists have their right to use the highway if there is no dedicated lane for them.

Just happened a few days ago, I was driving my car signalling to get on the fast lane and all of a sudden a kapcai appeared from the side and started showing rude gestures- holding up his hands like showing a punching fist.

A friend was equally agitated that he drew a picture depicting where motorsikal riders should not be on the highway. The red sign, means you are not supposed to be there when the cars are fast moving! and don't block ppl who signaled that they want to cross to the left or right lane!

In a separate event, during the massive jam back from work some time ago, my car got kicked by one the of the cyclist just because they could get away with it because they know it would be too much of a hassle to chase them or to make a police report of vandalism.

You're expecting that they should keep to the left half of the lane, so that you can overtake.

But you're driving a car. Not a motorcycle. Your car cannot fit in half a lane. What would happen is you will still try to overtake, though your car cannot fit. Your car then push the bike into 1/4 of the lane, and then off the lane completely. Causing an accident, possibly killing the motorcyclist. And then you will just drive off.

Years ago, a friend of mine used to ride a motorcycle. This is from personal experience. If you keep to the left side of the lane, cars/buses/lorries will try to overtake you even though they cannot fit in the remaining space. It's more dangerous.

So what Ali suggested was that they learn to ride in the middle of the lane. If you want to overtake, wait till the road coming the other direction is clear of cars. Those motorcyclists who fail to learn this lesson early on gets weeded out by natural selection. They get killed.

From the theory perspective, actually there are rules. Motorbikes are not supposed to be riding in the middle of the road, instead they should ride about 2 feet from the side white line, as taught in the driving school.

Another pal told me he hate motorist who ride in the middle too because sometimes they have another member riding in other bike, they will talk bulshit stories middle of the road and ride very slowly, not bothered of cars behind, hogging the road.

All in all, we agreed that motorcyclists should stay on the left lane unless overtaking.
